Bioshock - Rapture Recreation
This map is a recreation of the brilliant minds of the now closed Irrational Studio's Bioshock. I've spent countless hours playing the series to death. It's truly one of my favorites, if not my number one. The world of Rapture almost feels like it could be an actual functioning city. I wanted to see what it would be like to live in a city like this. One of the biggest values of the series is the mystery and eeriness of the entire atmosphere. The breathtaking views, and the complicated storyline bring the world together in the most wonderful way. I wanted to pay my respects to the city of Rapture, by recreating it. And with the help of myself and a few brilliant others, we're slowly coming closer to creating the city I dreamed of building.

The Map:
Choice
This map functions differently than most maps. Sure you got your shops and PvP areas, but this map actually changes based on the communities actions. This map allows you to join two teams. Both teams have different missions and directions they want to take the city of Rapture. If one team chooses to sink an entire building full of the opposing teams men, then it stays like that. Who is going to take the time to fix a collapsed building under water when most of it's citizens are spliced up on ADAM? When an item is taken from a crate or chest, it stays empty! Who would refill crates and chests with loot in an actual city? Exactly. If the community decides to kill each other rather than cooperate, there's bound to be large repercussions. I mean, imagine all the dead bodies. Jeebus.
Plasmids
Plasmids are serums that you can either drink or inject into yourself. Plasmids rewrite your genetic code once taken, allowing you to gain "supernatural powers" like lighting a fire with the snap of your fingers or freezing something in half a second. Some may call it magic, others call it science. Nearly everyone in Rapture has taken a plasmid. That's pretty much what drove Rapture to the ground, as the serum seriously rattles your attic and makes you mad when too much is taken. Read more about it here: bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/BioShock_Plasmids
ADAM & EVE
ADAM is a fluid found in Sea Slugs. It's practically God juice because it brings science to a whole other field. It has cured many diseases, and is even used for cosmetic purposes. This is why Rapture has become so advance, besides the fact that the worlds grandest intellectuals live in Rapture. Plasmids, are actually made out of ADAM. And EVE, is what powers and refines ADAM. Complicated process but you'll understand it soon enough. ADAM can be found as Ruby in the map. EVE can be found as Sapphire. Read more about it here: bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/ADAM and here bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/EVE
Choosing a Side
You can choose one of two teams in the map. The revolutionary, or the tyrant. I dunno, your choice. Everyone always asks me what side is the good side when there isn't one. You determine what side appeals to you the most but we all know whats going to happen to both of them, unless you don't then spoilers. Shh. You can choose the side of Andrew Ryan, or Atlas Fontaine. Andrew Ryan just wants his city back, and he'll do ANYTHING to do so. Andrew Ryan is all about the people... but more for himself. They both aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. So the choice is yours. On the fence? If you want to read about the two leaders, click these links:

Atlas Fontaine: bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/Atlas
Little Sisters
Little Sisters are little girls taken from the surface or by families in Rapture. They have one job, to gather ADAM from corpses. They're guarded by the Big Daddies, who will mess you up if you get close to the Little Sisters. You can read more about both of them here: bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/Little_Sister and bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/Big_Daddy
Shops:
Circus of Values
The Circus of Values is your classic store where you can buy weapons and consumables.
Gatherer's Garden
You can buy Plasmids and Upgrades at the Gatherer's Garden. If you prefer the ranged approach over the melee weapon, this store is for you. You can purchase upgrades that increase your ranged skills. This stuff fetches a high price, so uh... make sure you don't die. Also, this is the ultimate place where you make the ultimate decision of saving or harvesting a Little Sister.
Power to The People
Here you can increase your rank in the world. But the larger the rank, the bigger the bounty people will have on you.
U-Invent
If you have certain building materials with you that you find throughout the world, you can bring them to a nearby "U-Invent," a machine that acts much like the Circus of Values and Gatherer's Garden in that it take you to an entire room full of options. You can choose to craft whatever you'd like, assuming you have the required materials. There are various choices you can make, new plasmids, tonics and melee weapons to name a few.
Gene Banks
You should always rely on Gene Banks! Because if you don't, then if you die, you lose absolutely EVERYTHING! So for a small cost of 100 Gold, you can buy your own Gene Bank. If you have the money, make sure to message a host and we'll hook you up with a nice new place for you to put your stuff.

COMING SOON
A single player version of this map is in the works. The single player version will have key differences, a few are listed below.
Singleplayer (Play this if you want gameplay similar to the original BioShock)
Multiplayer (Play this if you want gameplay similar to BioShock 2's Multiplayer, or an MMO experience)
(A complete list of comparisons will be made soon.)
Singleplayer (Play this if you want gameplay similar to the original BioShock)
This version of the map will be much more story driven and will play similar to that of the actual BioShock game. The game will be formatted to fit a more personal and intimate experience for the player. Elements like picking a team to fight for before playing the game will no longer be in the map. Certain shop items will be stripped from the shops as well to preserve the singleplayer experience. You will also have to do certain tasks/missions before proceeding further in the game.
Multiplayer (Play this if you want gameplay similar to BioShock 2's Multiplayer, or an MMO experience)
This version of the map is made for multiple people to play at once. The map will work similar to that of a game of capture the flag. Most story elements will be taken out of this map and put into the Singleplayer version. You will still be able to choose a team in this version and all shop items will remain the same. In this version you will no longer have to person certain tasks/missions before proceeding further in the game.
